To vary my walks, I&#8217;m always looking for loop trails on the Carmel. It starts with a gentle climb past small dry waterfalls on the red-marked trail, toward the village of Isfiya.<br \/>Further along the red trail, after leaving the streambed, there&#8217;s a junction with a <strong>unmarked\u00a0<\/strong>walking path that leads back down to the parking lot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Difficulty: <\/strong>Moderate.<br \/><strong>Estimated time:<\/strong> 2 to 3 hours.<br \/><strong>Starting point:<\/strong> The Ya&#8217;aranim Forest parking area.<br \/>There&#8217;s organized car parking, an overnight campsite, a water tap and toilets at the Ya&#8217;aranim Forest parking area.<br \/>The trail is suitable for dogs.<br \/>Part of the trail is unmarked, so it&#8217;s best to use a trail map. It starts with a long, gentle climb toward the village of Isfiya. A little before the village there&#8217;s a trail junction, where the descent into Nahal Yagur begins.<br \/>It&#8217;s a steep descent, with a few small dry waterfalls along the way that you need to climb down carefully.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Difficulty: <\/strong>Challenging<br \/><strong>Estimated time:<\/strong> 5 to 7 hours.<br \/><strong>Starting point: <\/strong>Kibbutz Yagur.<br \/>There&#8217;s organized parking for hikers just past the entrance gate of Kibbutz Yagur.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2e18631 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"2e18631\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" href=\"https:\/\/check-in-out.com\/%d7%a0%d7%97%d7%9c-%d7%a1%d7%a4%d7%95%d7%a0%d7%99%d7%9d-%d7%98%d7%99%d7%95%d7%9c-%d7%9e%d7%90%d7%aa%d7%92%d7%a8-%d7%91%d7%9b%d7%a8%d7%9e%d7%9c-%d7%94%d7%93%d7%a8%d7%95%d7%9e%d7%99-%d7%91%d7%99%d7%9f\/\">Nahal Sfunim<\/a> is a great trail in the southern part of the Carmel, about a 10 minute drive from Haifa.<br \/>The trail passes rocky slopes and beautiful woodland, but its highlight is the Sfunim Cave.<br \/>Note: entering the cave is prohibited from November to April, to let the bat colony living in the cave rest.<\/p>\n<p>The trail starts on the red and white trail marking, which you follow up to the Sfunim Cave, and from there continues on the blue trail marking.<br \/>The trail is about 6.5 km long and involves an uphill climb.<br \/>This trail isn&#8217;t suitable for hot days, since most of it is in the sun.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Difficulty: <\/strong>Moderate.<br \/><strong>Estimated time: <\/strong>2 to 3 hours.<br \/><strong>Starting point: <\/strong>There&#8217;s a small parking area next to a bus stop on Route 4, opposite Moshav Megadim.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b74ccd7 elementor-widget Enchanted Forest Trail<\/a> runs along the lower slopes of the southern Carmel. The park&#8217;s main attraction is the bridges that cross the Nahal Katia streambed above the trees. The nature park has three walking trails: the Estate Trail, the Spring Trail and the Vultures Trail. This trail on the Carmel is less well known, but it&#8217;s special because the area where the reserve now stands was once entirely under the sea, and an underwater volcanic eruption took place here.<br \/>The tuff thrown into the air by the eruption fell back into the sea, forming an underwater mountain with only its peak exposed.
